Hall\, Command Sergeant Major (CSM) (Retired)\n\n\n\nMike Hall is a retired US Army Command Sergeant Major and a decorated combat veteran with over 34 years of service to the US Army and Special Operations. His experiences cover the gambit from the National Command Authority\, through the private on the ground over the last four decades. Hall served over 20 years with the 75th Ranger Regiment; he is the only soldier to have held the senior enlisted position at the Ranger Regiment\, the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) and the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). He retired from active duty in 2008 after 32 years of service and in 2009 was recalled from retirement\, to serve as the CSM and Senior Enlisted Advisor for the International Security Assistance Force/United States Forces Afghanistan North Atlantic Treaty Organization\, Afghanistan (ISAF). He is a veteran of Operation Just Cause\, Desert Storm-Phase III\, Operation Uphold Democracy\, operations in the Balkans\, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Hall has been the senior advisor to seven General Officers in time of war and peace. \n\n\n\nAfter retirement CSM (Ret) Hall was employed by Lockheed Martin Corporation\, as a Business Development Manager for Irregular Warfare and Stability Operations. In 2011 he joined the McChrystal Group as a consultant. In 2014\, he left the McChrystal Group and was an independent leadership and operational consultant and executive coach for several for commercial companies and the Department of Defense\, and the position as Chief of Staff\, North American Sales\, the Scotts Miracle Gro Company\,. \n\n\n\nIn 2018 he refocused to spend his time on Veterans’ issues. CSM Hall is the executive director of the Three Rangers Foundation. He also currently serves as the Honorary Command Sergeant Major of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He has and continues to serve on several Non-Profit\, veteran organizations\, board of directors to include the Wounded Warrior Project and Witness to War.

He served as a platoon leader in the 82nd Airborne Division\, executive officer of an infantry battalion in the 7th Infantry Division\, and commanded the 4th Battalion 10th Infantry in Panama. A member of the faculty of the US Military Academy\, Jacobs taught international relations and comparative politics\, and he was a member of the faculty of the National War College in Washington\, DC. He was in Vietnam twice\, both times as an advisor to Vietnamese infantry battalions\, earning three Bronze Stars\, two Silver Stars and the Medal of Honor\, the nation’s highest combat decoration. Jacobs retired as a Colonel in 1987. He was a founder and Chief Operating Officer of AutoFinance Group Inc\, one of the firms to pioneer the securitization of debt instruments. He was a Managing Director of Bankers Trust\, where he ran foreign exchange options worldwide and was a partner in the institutional hedge fund business. Jacobs subsequently founded a similar business for Lehman Brothers and retired again in 1995 to pursue investments. He is a principal of The Fitzroy Group\, a firm that specializes in the development of residential real estate in London and invests both for its own account and in joint ventures with other institutions. He serves on a number of charitable boards of directors and is a Director Emeritus of the World War II Museum. Jacobs is the SOSH Senior Fellow for Finance at the US Military Academy and is an on-air analyst for NBC News\, where he was a member of the team that produced the 2011 Murrow Award-winning Nightly News segment “Iraq: The Long Way Out.” Colonel Jacobs is also the co-author of the memoir\, If Not Now\, When?\, published by Penguin and winner of the Colby Award. His second work of non-fiction is Basic\, released by St. Martin’s Press in 2012. \n\n
