SUMMARY:Advancing The Line - Atlanta: Red\, White and BBQ Social
DESCRIPTION:Join us to Celebrate July 4th and America!\n\n\n\n\n\nATLVets Speaker Series | July 8\, 2025Featuring Chris Brewer – Retired Ranger\, Green Beret\, and Author📍 Buckhead Club | Atlanta\, GA⏰ Doors open at 5:30 PM | Program begins at 6:00 PM \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us for a compelling evening of stories\, leadership insights\, and behind-the-scenes accounts of U.S. military history with special guest Chris Brewer\, a retired Ranger and Special Forces operator whose service spans some of the most critical and covert missions of the modern era. \n\n\n\nBrewer will be sharing lessons and reflections from his two recent books: \n\n\n\n📘 Old Scroll Ranger\n\n\n\nA first-hand look at the early days of the 1st Ranger Battalion following its reactivation in 1974\, Old Scroll Ranger is a tribute to the soldiers Brewer served with—capturing their missions\, training evolutions\, and after-hours mischief. From deployments in Panama\, Alaska\, and Germany to Brewer’s pioneering attendance at the elite Special Forces Underwater Operations Course\, this book is filled with hard-earned insights on Ranger leadership and the grit required to serve. \n\n\n\n📕 In the Shadows Between the Wars\n\n\n\nThis deeply researched and DOD-cleared memoir reveals the evolution of Special Forces during the post-Vietnam era\, exploring classified missions in Colombia\, Panama\, and beyond. Brewer offers a rare glimpse into covert diplomatic engagements\, the threat of Pablo Escobar\, and the power of deterrence through presence rather than violence. He also explores lessons from U.S. efforts to stabilize Panama post-invasion and calls attention to the critical—but often fragile—relationship between the State Department and military on the ground. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a military veteran\, a national security professional\, or someone who appreciates leadership forged in complexity\, this is a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone who lived and led through it all. \n\n\n\nSpecial thanks to our partners and community members who make this speaker series possible.
