SUMMARY:Sweat with a Vet - MVP Partnership
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce a collaborative effort with MVP – Merging Vets and Players\nEach week\, MVP hosts a workout and community session at Crossfit Resurgens. Come out and get in a sweat with us! Here’s more about MVP: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them after the uniform comes off; providing them with a new team to assist with transition\, promote personal development\, and show them they are never alone. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur nation’s warriors – from every field of battle – possess a sense of strength\, of excellence\, and of commitment that we seldom see here at home. However\, far too many of them are struggling to transition their abilities towards a new mission – leading themselves\, their families\, and their communities off the field. MVP was designed to address this challenge\, and ensure that all of our nation’s warriors can be as productive off the field as they were on it. \nBy merging vets and players\, we create an environment where these warriors can share each other’s strength and experience\, and can support each other in building fulfilling lives of service and strength. Your support will enable us to continue building our program\, and unlocking the potential of these great individuals. \nIf you are interested in joining MVP each week\, please check out more here: https://vetsandplayers.org/locations/atlanta

SUMMARY:Atlanta Speaker Series: Jack Carr
DESCRIPTION:THE FIRST IN A NEW NON-FICTION SERIES\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1983: the United States Marine Corps experiences its greatest single-day loss of life since the Battle of Iwo Jima when a truck packed with explosives crashes into their headquarters and barracks in Beirut\, Lebanon. This horrifying terrorist attack\, which killed 241 servicemen\, continues to influence U.S. foreign policy and haunts the Marine Corps to this day. Now\, the full story is revealed as never before by Jack Carr and historian and Pulitzer Prize finalist James M. Scott. Based on comprehensive interviews with survivors\, extensive military records\, as well as personal letters\, diaries\, and photographs\, this is the authoritative account of the deadly attack \n\n\n\n\nDon’t want to go to the private book signing but still want to hear Jack speak? Head over to Atlanta History Center and buy a ticket for the main speaking event- https://www.atlantahistorycenter.com/event/jack-carr/ \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere’s a bit about Jack: From a young age\, Jack Carr had two dreams: serving his country in uniform as a Navy SEAL and becoming an author. Following twenty years in the SEAL Teams\, Jack shifted his sights to publishing and fulfilled his literary objective with the release of his debut novel\, The Terminal List. \n\n\n\n\nSince then\, he has captivated readers worldwide with the gripping tales of James Reece in his New York Times bestselling novels True Believer\, Savage Son\, The Devil’s Hand\, In the Blood\, and Only the Dead. \n\n\n\nThe Terminal List was adapted into a thrilling #1 Amazon Prime Video series starring Chris Pratt and has been greenlit for a second season based on Jack’s second novel True Believer (release date TBA). \n\n\n\nIn addition\, a prequel origin story series based on the character Ben Edwards titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf starring Taylor Kitsch is currently in production. \n\n\n\nThe 7th novel in The Terminal List series\, Red Sky Mourning is available June 18\, 2024. Jack’s first non-fiction work\, Targeted: Beirut – The 1983 Marine Barracks Bombing and the Untold Origin Story of the War on Terror\, will be published on September 24\, 2024.
