SUMMARY:Sweat with a Vet - MVP Partnership
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce a collaborative effort with MVP – Merging Vets and Players\nEach week\, MVP hosts a workout and community session at Crossfit Resurgens. Come out and get in a sweat with us! Here’s more about MVP:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMVP empowers combat veterans and former professional athletes by connecting them after the uniform comes off; providing them with a new team to assist with transition\, promote personal development\, and show them they are never alone. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur nation’s warriors – from every field of battle – possess a sense of strength\, of excellence\, and of commitment that we seldom see here at home. However\, far too many of them are struggling to transition their abilities towards a new mission – leading themselves\, their families\, and their communities off the field. MVP was designed to address this challenge\, and ensure that all of our nation’s warriors can be as productive off the field as they were on it. \nBy merging vets and players\, we create an environment where these warriors can share each other’s strength and experience\, and can support each other in building fulfilling lives of service and strength. Your support will enable us to continue building our program\, and unlocking the potential of these great individuals. \nIf you are interested in joining MVP each week\, please check out more here: https://vetsandplayers.org/locations/atlanta

SUMMARY:Advancing the Line for Veterans - Speaker Series
DESCRIPTION:Join Zack A Knight in a monthly meet-up the second Tuesday of each month at the Buckhead Club. We feature veterans of the local community that are making an impact as we all come together in one place to build community and business! \nExpect insightful discussions and guest speakers\, creating a supportive atmosphere for both seasoned Veterans and newcomers. \nThis month we join Filmmaker\, Michael Barder. Who is currently working on a biopic film about Sgt Rafael Peralta. Sgt Peralta was nominated for the Medal of Honor based upon the eye witness statement of the five Marines whose lives he saved. In a highly controversial move\, the Secretary of Defense downgraded the award to the Navy Cross. Efforts continue by those whose lives he saved\, as well as many other Marines\, to see Rafael Peralta ultimately awarded the Medal of Honor for this action. \nMichael is an award-winning writer\, director and cinematographer. His most recent feature film is the historic film 1521 starring Danny Trejo and Bea Alonzo. 1521 will be released in June 2024. Michael wrote and directed Flight 704 starring Eric Roberts\, which he also produced. The film is entering the festival circuit in 2024. Michael wrote and directed the award-winning short film The Drive and has filmed numerous corporate branding productions for clients including Tiffany & Co.\, Curia Global\, New York Times\, and Tandem Diabetes Care. \nSave the date to be part of this community-driven initiative\, where we honor the past\, celebrate the present\, and shape a brighter future for Veterans. \n
